Adobe Character Animator is an Emmy® award-winning character animation software. The programme uses a combination of your webcam and artificial intelligence to capture facial movements and voice with incredible accuracy and render those in real-time to 'puppets' on screen.
These 'puppets' can then be exported into other applications such as After Effects or Premiere Pro and overlaid on top of video footage or stills.Using Illustrator or Photoshop, you can easily create your own 'puppets' following a set naming convention for each layer representing a different part of the body.
Character Animator is a powerful piece of software, and the limits of use are endless. You could use it to create internal videos for onboarding new starters, to explain health and safety or fire escape videos. You could develop cartoons with it, use it as a spoken guide for a video clip, the list goes on.
The software comes bundled with a selection of ready made 'puppets', but to get the best out of it, we suggest you create your own, using Illustrator or Photoshop.
In the Beginners Photoshop part of the course, you will learn the basics, enabling you to use the programme to an intermediate working level. You will discover the essential fundamentals of Photoshop such as RGB vs CMYK, image resolution, layers, cropping and rotating artwork, before going on to more complex tasks such as cutting out parts of an image.
We want you to practice what you have learned in the Adobe Photoshop course before moving onto Character Animator. Most of our Adobe courses come with a free Adobe authorised training manual for your reference during and after the training. The courses where no manual is available come with comprehensive notes for you to take away with you. We always have a maximum of six delegates in our classrooms which will give you more one on one time with the instructor.
You are encouraged to ask us examples of how to do things that you need to learn for you role. We try and tailor a portion of the day to accommodate this, so that everybody leaves with relevant knowledge suited to their job.
